NEC’s newest S5 software upgrade for the SV8500 connects telecom systems and allows flexible upgrades with new software. Since system upgrades are more efficient, adding analog phones are easier, connecting systems together works better and labor time and materials are reduced, so cost savings can be substantial.
New and enhanced end-user features include:
- SIP Signaling Gateway - The SIP Signaling Gateway (SSG) converts standard SIP signals into enhanced NEC SIP signaling to connect the SV8500 and standard SIP phones.
- Remote Nodes – allow multiple locations upgraded IPX systems to talk to each other and to act like a single system.
- SPA-16ELCNA-A Digital Line Card – no more chip replacements! That means upgrades can be handled by software releases on site, or via remote service, so new circuit cards can integrate older, or discontinued phone types. Old phones can run with new firmware, uploaded to the circuit card, and replace an entire process of handling fatigued circuit cards and chips.
- Gone are the days of the desi (labels) for the phone. The ITL-8LDE-1(BK) phone now offers desi-less configuration – no more paper strips. Phone assignments are automatic because of built-in LCD displays.
- Now you can support 32 analog phones on an IP gateway connection and spend less money doing it. This feature will be available for the fourth quarter of 2011.
